Elemix additive allowed Kienstra to meet the design challenge of using a pumpable structural mix that meets 3,000 psi while having a maximum dry unit weight of 105.0 and being finisher friendly. Normal lightweight would not meet these specifications. By using Elemix additive in the mix, the overall consistency of slump, pumpability, unit weight, strength and finishability of the concrete allowed the contractors to meet the engineer’s strict equirements for the project.
