From our internal processes, to our products, to our full range of design and engineering services and on-site installation training, SYNTHEON is committed to sustainability.
SYNTHEON understands just how much time and energy goes into the construction of a building, and just how much time and energy it takes to maintain that building’s life. By following our Rules of Sustainability, we hold ourselves responsible for streamlining the construction process – making it smarter, faster and far less wasteful. Our manufacturing facilities are precisely run, and meet ISO 14001 standards. Our products save energy, save time, save resources and ultimately save money. Our engineering services, and the experience that comes along with them, reduces environmental impact and improves the performance of the buildings we help create.
Together, these processes, products and services represent the truly comprehensive commitment to sustainability at SYNTHEON. This comprehensive commitment allows us to achieve what we call engineered sustainability - the synthesis of common sense and innovative building materials and methods for the common good.
USGBC LEED™ Point Certification
LEED® NC 2009
SYNTHEON building systems can potentially contribute to points for the LEED Green Building Rating System.
As energy efficiency demands continue to rise on the local, state, and federal level, LEED accredited structures become more desirable — and SYNTHEON products can potentially contribute to up to 34 LEED points. For example, SYNTHEON Insulated Concrete Forms (ICFS), wall, and deck panels can potentially contribute to LEED points in the following categories:
- Energy and Atmosphere (EA)
- Indoor Environmental Quality (EQ)
- Materials and Resources (MR)
- Innovative Design (ID)
- Regional Priority (RP)

The SYNTHEON ACCEL-E Steel Thermal Efficient Panel wall system has been certified for Indoor Air Quality by the GREENGUARD Environmental Institute. In order to be GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certified®, the EPS insulating material in the ACCEL-E panels was screened for more than 10,000 different volatile organic compounds, and found to emit the fewest possible chemicals into the indoor environment. By using products bearing the GREENGUARD Certification mark, architects, designers and specifiers can be assured that these products have been independently verified to meet some of the most rigorous chemical emissions standards in the world. ACCEL-E has also been certified according to the GREENGUARD Children and Schools Certification for Low Emitting Products.
